COLONIAL POPPY SEED BREAD 
1/2 c. poppy seed (Bakers - in the jar)
3/4 c. milk
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Mix milk and poppy seed and let stand at room temperature for 2 to 4 hours. Let eggs set out also. Mix all other ingredients into milk and poppy seed until smooth.

In 350 degree oven bake in loaf pan 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes (test with toothpick), or bake in 4 small loaf pans for only 45 minutes. (Grease and flour pans.)
