ENGLISH TOFFEE 
2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 c. walnuts, crushed
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
6 tbsp. water
2 (16 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 c. crushed walnuts

In a 15 x 10 x 1 inch cookie sheet place 1 cup crushed walnuts in a single layer then layer 1 package chocolate chips over nuts.

Combine butter, sugar, 1 cup crushed walnuts, corn syrup and water in a heavy saucepan. Cook to 290 degrees stirring constantly. Pour in cookie sheet over nuts and chocolate chips. Spread evenly.

Cover with remaining chocolate chips then crushed nuts. When hard and cool break into pieces. Makes 3 pounds.
