OLD FASHIONED GINGER COOKIES | |
1 c. granulated sugar 3/4 c. shortening 1/4 c. molasses 1 egg 2 c. plain flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/2 c. granulated sugar (extra and set aside) Cream 1 cup sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add molasses and beaten eggs. Beat well. Sift flour, salt, soda, and spices. Add to creamed mixture. Roll in balls (teaspoonful). Roll in extra sugar. Place on cookie sheet. Do not flatten. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. |
