LEMON BARS 
1 c. shortening (or 1/2 shortening & 1/2 butter)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 c. oatmeal

Mix and bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 25 minutes. Watch close. (I use a cookie sheet greased and floured.) After bars are cool, prepare icing: Juice & zest of 1 lemon 1 tbsp. butter

Stir, may need to moisten more with cream or lemon juice. Top with chopped pecans (I use 3 cups powdered sugar and put pecans in the icing instead of on top). Cut in squares.
