CANDIED APPLE SALAD 
4 c. sugar
4 c. water
1 pkgs. cinnamon candies
Red food coloring

Peel and core red delicious apples. Combine listed ingredients and bring to a boil. Turn heat down slightly. Add apples. Cook one hour, turning once. Remove apples and let cool. Mix 1 (8 ounce) cream cheese, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, and 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts; stuff into the center of apple. Serve on lettuce leaves after they have been chilled several hours.
