CHICKEN AND DUMPLING 
1 chicken, cut up
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Cook slowly until tender.

2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. salt

Sift flour, measure and sift with salt and baking powder. Add milk until thick. Roll out with flour, cut into strips, drop in broth. Cover and cook 15 minutes.
