ANGEL BISCUITS (No-Rising) 
1 pkg. yeast
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. lukewarm water
5 c. plain flour
3 tsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
2 c. buttermilk

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Into a bowl, sift flour and other dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk, then yeast mixture. Stir until all flour is dampened. Knead on floured board for a minute or two. Roll out to desired thickness (about 1/2 inch) and cut with biscuit cutter. Brush tops with melted butter and bake at 400 degrees until brown. Dough may be stored in refrigerator several days and used as needed.
