AUNT FLORENCE'S COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. milk
2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 pkgs. yeast
1/4 c. very warm water
3 eggs, separated
3 egg whites
1 c. sugar

Heat butter and milk. Sift together flour, salt, and sugar. Dissolve yeast in the warm water. Add milk and butter. Add flour, salt and sugar; mix well. Add 3 beaten egg yolks. Beat until smooth. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Next morning, beat egg whites with 1 cup sugar until stiff. Divide dough in half. Roll out and spread egg whites over each half, sprinkle with 1/4 cup nuts and 1/8 cup raisins on each half. Roll up each half and place in 10" fluted pan. One on top of each other. Grease pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
