DEEP DISH FRUIT PIE | |
3 c. raw fruit (apples, rhubarb, cherries, peaches or apricots) 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1/4 - 1/2 c. sugar, depending on the tartness of the fruit 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 tbsp. oil 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Pit, peel and slice the fruit. Mix together and place in a deep 8" baking dish with the white sugar and lemon juice. Bake at 375 degrees until fruit is tender (about 45 minutes for apples). With a pastry blender, mix together the flour, brown sugar, oil and cinnamon until it is crumbly. Place atop the cooked fruit and continue to bake until brown and bubbly. Top each serving with ice milk or sherbet. Yield: 6 servings. Approximately 200 calories per servings. |
