HAM AND EGG SOUFFLE | |
16 slices bread, with crusts removed 8 slices ham 8 slices Cheddar or sharp American cheese (or 1 pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese) 6 eggs 3 c. milk 1/2 tsp. salt Pepper 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1-2 tsp. onion powder 1 stick butter, melted Place 8 slices of bread in the bottom of 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Layer ham and cheese over bread. Top with remaining 8 slices of bread. Mix together remaining ingredients, except butter. Pour this mixture over the layers. Pour melted butter on top. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Leave the foil on during first 55 minutes, then remove foil for last 5 minutes. It will first look high and moist. It is done when it flattens out and is dryer looking. |
