PFEFFERNUESSE 
A:

1 /2 c. melted butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
1/2 tsp. oil of anise

2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. finely chopped blanched almonds
Powdered sugar

Blend Group A. Blend dry ingredients and almonds with Group A. Shape teaspoon of dough into balls. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees about 12-14 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while warm. Makes about 15 dozen.
