FLOUR TORTILLAS 
3 c. flour
3/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. warm water

Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Add shortening, use your hands to mix together. Pour in water slowly, constantly mixing with your hands, until mixture becomes dough form. Pinch off dough approximately size of a golf ball.

Use rolling pin to make flat circular shape. Use very warm cast iron skillet lightly brushed with oil. Fry both sides. Makes 12 to 15 tortillas.
