CARAMEL BROWNIES 
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 sm. can evaporated milk
3/4 c. melted butter
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels (approximately 50 pieces)
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Melt caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk (microwave or double boiler). Mix remaining milk and butter into cake mix. Add nuts, if desired. Put half of this mixture into greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes.

Pour melted caramel mixture over hot dough. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Spread remaining dough over all and bake for 16 to 18 minutes. Cool completely and cut into small bars for serving. These brownies are very rich and are best served at room temperature. Enjoy!!

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
