MAMA'S ICEBOX ROLLS 
1 c. lard
1 c. mashed potatoes
1 qt. water
2-3 qts. flour
2/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1 yeast cake
1 egg, beaten

Cream lard and sugar. Add potatoes. Dissolve yeast cake in water. Let set 1 hour. Add beaten egg. Then 2 to 3 quarts of flour and put in icebox. Pinch off what you need. Roll out and cut. Let rise 1 1/2 hours before baking.
