PECAN SQUARES 
3 c. Rice Chex cereal, crushed to 1 c.
1 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Salt
1 stick butter

TOPPING:

1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 stick butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. pecan halves

Grease 9" square baking pan. Combine cereal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press firmly into bottom of pan. Bake 12 minutes.

TOPPING: Combine egg, brown sugar, vanilla, butter and cinnamon. Stir in nuts. Pour evenly over hot base. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until topping is set. Cool. Cut into bars. Makes 15 bars.
