1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 c. molasses
1 c. cold water
1/2 c. hot water
2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
1 egg
Dash of salt
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter

Mix hot water and baking soda together. Combine brown sugar, melted butter, molasses, cold water, hot water mixture, 3 cups flour, egg and salt. Mix by hand keeping batter lumpy. Pour batter into greased and floured 13x9 inch pan. Combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup butter into crumbs; sprinkle on top of batter in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
