KOLACHES 
3 c. milk
2 pkgs. dry yeast
3 eggs
6 or 7 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening, melted
1/4 c. water, lukewarm

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
Dash of cinnamon

Scald milk; cook to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water; add 1 teaspoon and sugar 1 teaspoon flour. Beat eggs, sugar, salt and shortening with milk. Add some flour and beat with mixer. Add yeast and rest of flour. Knead until smooth. Place in greased bowl, cover, let rise in warm place until double. Punch down. Roll out on floured board to 1/2" thick. Cut with biscuit cutter. Let rise again. Indent center of dough and fill with favorite fruit pie filling. Sprinkle with topping ingredients mixed together. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes. May frost with powdered sugar frosting. Sprinkle with topping above before baking.
