DATE PINWHEEL 
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. dates
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
1 c. butter (shortening)
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugars, add eggs. Sift dry ingredients, add vanilla.

FILLING:

1 lb. dates, cut up
1 c. hot water
1/2 c. sugar

Cook until syrupy.

Roll out dough and spread on filling roll up like jelly roll and chill. Slice thin with sharp knife. Bake 375 degrees about 15 minutes, approximately 8 dozen.
