BATTER - DIPPED HOT DOGS 
1/2 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. fluid milk
2 tbsp. melted fat
12 hot dogs
Fat for frying

Mix cornmeal, flour, salt and pepper in a bowl. Add milk, egg and fat. Stir until smooth. Dip hot dogs into batter and drain over the bowl. Fry in heated fat or oil for 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown, turning once. Remove from fat and drain before serving.
