BRIGADEIRO (CHOCOLATE TAFFIES)
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1 c. unsweetened cocoa
1 tbsp. butter
3 1/2 oz. (1/2 c.) chocolate shot (sprinkles)

In a 2-3 quart pan over medium-low heat - stir milk, cocoa and 1 tablespoon water until mixture starts to bubble. Stir until mixture holds together as a soft mass when pushed to side of pan, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand until cool enough to touch.

With buttered hands, shape mixture into 1 inch balls and roll in sprinkles to coat.

This is a Brazilian candy, simple and delicious! Be sure to stop cooking and take it off the heat as soon as it thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan, as it can start to scorch. I pour mine onto a buttered plate so that it stops cooking and spreads out, making it easier to roll into balls. My kids love this, and they can help with the sprinkle-rolling. :-) refrigerate to store, but let sit out for serving.
