PEANUT BUTTER CRISS CROSSES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. peanut butter
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Thoroughly cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Stir in peanut butter. Sift dry ingredients, stir into creamed mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet. Press with fork (floured) to make criss cross. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, for about 10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies. For richer cookies, use 2 cups flour.
