1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. pecans

Mix well. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased baking sheet. Mash with fork dipped in water. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.
