SWISS STEAK 
4 cubed steaks
2 tbsp. shortening
Salt
Pepper
1 can tomatoes
1 green pepper, sliced in rings
1 med. onion, sliced
Rice

Melt shortening in large frying pan. Season steaks with salt and pepper and brown them. Add tomatoes, green pepper and onion and 1/2 to 3/4 cup of water. Let simmer, partially covered, over low heat for 45 minutes. Serve over rice. 4 servings.
