DEBRA'A SUNDAY BRUNCH 7-UP CAKE | |
1/4 tsp. salt 3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. lemon extract 1/2 c. vegetable shortening, Crisco 3 c. Swans Down cake flour, sift well 5 lg. eggs 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 1 c. 7-Up (no substitute) 1 c. butter, softened (no substitute) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 12-cup Bundt cake pan. Combine flour and salt in small bowl, set aside. Combine remaining ingredients, except for soda in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed until mixture is light and fluffy, scraping side occasionally about 5 minutes. Reduce speed to low, add flour and salt mixture gradually alternating with soda. Bake 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan. Remove from pan, let cool more and serve. |
