DAGO CABBAGE
1 lb. hot sausage
1 med. cabbage, shredded
1 teaspoon salt
1 24 oz (approx) can tomatoes

Sauté sausage and drain, if necessary. Mash tomatoes into small bits and pour juice and tomatoes over sausage.

Add cabbage and stir cabbage, tomatoes and sausage until cabbage is wilted. Cover skillet and cook until cabbage is tender. Stir occasionally. Cook on low heat.

(If too soupy, cook without lid for awhile.) Cook 45-60 minutes.

Good with skillet cornbread!

Per my dictionary: "In the Upper Midwest region of the United States, the term is used for several Italian-inspired food items with no apparent pejorative connotation."
