OLD - FASHIONED TEA CAKES | |
1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 5 eggs 5 1/2 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/4 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time. Sift together the flour and baking powder. Add the flour and milk alternately until completely mixed. Add vanilla or lemon extract. Bake in two greased and floured loaf pans in a preheated 350°F oven for 45-60 minutes. Allow to cool before slicing. Top loaves with confectioners icing. |
