1 1/2 c. butter
2 1/4 c. white sugar
3 eggs
4 1/3 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Chill at least 2 to 3 hours or overnight. Roll out onto flour dusted surface about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out cookies. Bake at 350 degrees 6 to 8 minutes on ungreased cookie sheets.
