Start out with a 33 gallon stainless pot into which 5 gallons of peanut oil has been added. Heat to 380-400 degrees - RED HOT! Oh yes, the turkey - - a 14-16 pound fresh whole turkey is the best (not frozen). For every pound of turkey, cook for 3 minutes. After the turkey floats be sure to cook it for 2 more minutes. Remove the turkey and wait 15 minutes. Eat when it cools off - if you can wait that long!! RED'S BLOW-OUT TURKEY MARINADE: You can use any amount of the following to adjust to your own taste (coat the inside and outside of the turkey). Seasonings - salt, lemon pepper, cayenne "RED" pepper, Creole seasonings, celery salt, blackened seasoning, black pepper, garlic and fajita seasoning. Just mix the above together and rub this all over the turkey (like you would your boyfriend/girlfriend). Place the turkey in a large plastic bag and marinate overnight. Turkey is ready to fry! |
