GREEN BEAN SUPREME | |
1/2 tsp. grated onion 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 1 (1 lb.) can green beans, drained 1/3 c. corn flake crumbs 2 tbsp. butter and butter 1/2 tsp. sugar Dash of pepper 1/2 c. sour cream 4 oz. Swiss cheese, shredded (1 c.) 1 tbsp. melted butter In a skillet, cook onions in 2 tablespoons butter until tender. Blend in flour, sugar, salt and pepper. Add milk and cook until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Add beans to mixture. Spread a layer of bean mixture into casserole dish. Sprinkle part of Swiss cheese mixture over beans. Repeat layers of bean mixture and Swiss cheese, ending with beans. Combine corn flakes and 1 tablespoon melted butter; toss until mixed. Top beans and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. |
