OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. soft shortening
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. quick oats
1 c. raisins

Sift dry ingredients together and set aside. Combine shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla and beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Stir in oatmeal and raisins; combine with dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
