OATMEAL COOKIES (SOFT) 
1 c. raisins
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
7 tbsp. liquid from raisins
2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
Nuts

Simmer raisins in 1 cup water about 5 minutes until plump. Cream the sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, salt, soda and cinnamon. Add alternately with 7 tablespoons of liquid from raisins. Then add oatmeal, raisins and nuts. Bake about 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
