BROWN MEAT STEW 
1 lb. lean stew beef
6-8 carrots
6 Irish potatoes
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 med. onions

Brown meat in a little shortening if meat does not have enough fat. Add salt and pepper. Barely cover with water and cook until tender. During last 25 minutes of cooking, add potatoes, carrots and onions. Cook until vegetables are tender.
