BASIC DOUGH | |
5 lb. unbleached flour 2 pkg. dry yeast 5 c. warm water 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. salt 1/2 c. melted Crisco or oil Dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar and set aside until it rises. Put flour and salt in large mixing bowl. Gradually add liquid and oil mixing thoroughly with hands and kneading until soft and elastic. Add more water if necessary. When dough has been completely kneaded, brush the top with a little oil or shortening and cover and let rise in a warm place overnight or until double at least. Can be used for pizza - zaathar - fathayir sfeeha and fried dough. |
