MOLASSES CRUMB CAKE 
4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. hot water
1 c. baking molasses
1 tsp. baking soda
2 pastry shells

Makes 2 cakes.

Mix flour, sugar and butter together well. Take about 1 cup of this mixture out for crumb topping. Set aside.

In another bowl mix this liquid - hot water, molasses and baking soda. Then combine these two mixes and mix well. Fill unbaked pastry 1/2 full. Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top. Bake as any other cake, 350 degrees, until knife is clean.
