BARBECUE SAUCE 
1 (16 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
1 onion
1 (6 oz.) tomato paste
1/2 tsp. ground thyme
1/2 tsp. ground clove
4 tbsp. maple syrup
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1/8 tsp. allspice
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp. salt
Hot pepper sauce (1/2 tsp. is hot)
1 clove garlic

Simmer 45 minutes and strain or use as is.
