PRESERVED TURNIPS 
1/4 cup whole mixed pickle spices
2 qt. vinegar
2 cups sugar
4 qt. cooked turnip slices or chunks

Tie spices in a cloth bag; boil with sugar and vinegar about 5 minutes. Remove bag; add cooked turnips and bring to a boil. Can in sterilized jars or use fresh after allowing to stand for a few hours.
