Place turkey in sink and unwrap. Remove metal clips around legs (squeeze together 1 leg at a time). Run water in turkey to rinse and remove giblets. Turn turkey to other end and remove package of giblets there and clean out cavity with running water. Put a little salt on inside of large opening.
Cook at 350 degrees. Place turkey in large pan. Cook with breast side up. Fill pan half way up with water. Cook for 2 hours.
Remove turkey and flip it over (breast side down). (This makes breast tender and not dry.) Add more water to pan, fill up a little less than top of pan.
Place foil over turkey. Leave opening on each end. Turn oven down to 325 degrees. Cook for several hours. Turkey is done when legs move easily.
