6 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. milk
6 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 jigger whiskey
1/2 orange, grated and juiced

Anise flavor can be used instead of vanilla.

Put flour in large pan and make a well in center. Put all ingredients in center and mix. Like bread dough and knead well. Roll out size of 1/4 inch rope. Tie into knots and bake at 350 degrees until golden and very light. May be iced with powdered sugar icing.
