2 c. yellow cornmeal mix
1/4 c. self-rising flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash of black pepper
1 c. chopped onion
1 egg
1 c. milk

Combine dry ingredients. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and add milk. Stir dry ingredients into milk mixture. Add onion and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls in hot oil and cook until golden brown. Drain well before serving.
