1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cake mix (dry)

In a mixing bowl, blend together (by hand) butter, shortening, egg and vanilla. Add 1 cake mix (dry), half at a time. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees 6 to 8 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.

Try adding various items to the batter such as nuts, sprinkles, chocolate chips, M & M's, etc. Also, flavored mixes work well (cherry chip, funfetti, orange, lemon).
