PECAN PIE SQUARES 
3 c. Gold Medal flour
1/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. butter, softened
3/4 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease pan. Beat flour, sugar, butter and salt. Press firmly in pan. Bake until light golden brown (20) minutes.

FILLING:

4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 Karo light or dark syrup
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Mix all ingredients except pecans until well blended. Stir in pecans.

Bake 25 minutes.
