CANDY CANE COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. milk
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
2 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. red food coloring

In large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in milk, egg and extracts. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until well blended. Divide dough in half. Knead food coloring into one half of dough. Wrap each half in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
