SOUTHERN FRIED CORN 
12 ears corn
1/2 c. bacon grease
1 tsp. sugar
salt and pepper to taste
3 c. water

Cut corn from cob and scrape well. (If the kernels are large make several cuttings before scraping). Put in skillet with bacon grease, sugar, salt, pepper and water. Cook slowly, stirring frequently and adding water as needed to keep from sticking, for one hour.
