5 HOUR STEW 
2 lbs. stewing beef (raw)
1 c. carrot chunks (1 inch pieces)
1/2 c. celery chunks
1 onion, cut up
4 to 6 potatoes, cut up
1 bay leaf, optional

Mix and pour over:

1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 can Campbell's beef broth
3 tbsp. Minute Tapioca

Put meat on bottom of a 2 quart or larger covered casserole. Salt and pepper to taste. Add carrots and celery over onions. Mix tomato sauce, bouillon and tapioca and pour over stew. Bake 4 hours at 275 degrees. Then add potatoes and bake until potatoes are done, approximately 1 hour.

This recipe works very well in a crock pot. Put potatoes and other vegetables into bottom with meat at top. Less liquid mixture may be needed.
