PINTO BEANS 
1 lb. dry pinto beans, soaked overnight
4 c. cold water
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp. red pepper, crushed (or 2 tsp. chili powder)
2 tsp. salt
1/4 lb. salt pork (or bacon)

Put all ingredients in crock pot. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours. Then turn to low for 8 hours.
