PEPPERMINT PARTY CHIFFON CAKE 
Made in tube pan, this requires 3 bowls, one of them large. Separate 7 eggs, putting whites in very large bowl and 5 of the yolks in smaller bowl. now, add to egg yolks, 1/2 cup salad oil, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 3/4 cup cold water and 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candy. Do not stir.

Sift all together 2 or 3 times, 2 1/4 cups sift cake flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 teaspoon salt. Now, whip egg whites plus 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar, very stiff. Quickly add water and yolk mixture to flour mixture and beat smooth. Pour over whites while folding in. Put in ungreased tube pan. Bake 55 minutes at 325 degrees then 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool in inverted tube pan. Frost lightly or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
