1 1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
2 1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Sift dry ingredients together. Stir into creamed mixture. Blend well. Add chips and nuts. Drop 2 inches on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove from cookie sheet immediately. Makes 9 dozen.
