1 package german chocolate cake mix. Mix as directed. Pour 1/2 of batter into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven.
While cake is baking, place 1 package Kraft caramels, 3/4 cup butter and 1/2 cup Eagle Brand milk undiluted, in top of double boiler and melt.
Sprinkle 1 package (12 ounce) milk chocolate bits over baked cake. Pour caramel mixture over this and sprinkle (chopped pecans) over all. Pour rest of cake batter on top and bake 30 minutes. Let cake cool completely and frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.
