1 lg. chuck or rump roast 1 med. onion, chopped 1/2 c. chopped celery 2 tbsp. cider vinegar 3 tbsp. brown sugar 1 c. ketchup 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. chili powder 4 tbsp. lemon juice 1 1/2 c. water Dash of salt and pepper Combine ingredients and pour over meat in a roasting pan and cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 4-5 hours or until meat falls apart. Remove meat, trim fat, and cut (shred) into thin pieces. Put meat back into roaster and mix with sauce. Cover and bake for another hour. Cool, skim fat, if desired. Serve on buns. |
