NANNIE'S BISCUITS 
2/3 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
2/3 c. buttermilk

Cut shortening into flour with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk, stirring with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface, and lightly knead 4-5 times.
